'La Belle Sultane' has many names, and she deserves all of them. Most especially, she deserves 'Violacea,' for her color is the deep, velvety color. Look at a freshly opened bloom and you can see deep crimson, purple and a cloud of near blue all over her surface.
Now, I have to admit, I tinkered a lot with this photograph. No matter what I did, I could not exactly capture the color this rose is. But this is as close to the actual color I can get on a computer screen. Imagine an entire bush covered with these! It's a grand sight, I can tell you! This is a rose very worth having, and I intend to make good use of her pollen!
